Is Unilorin offering Pharmacy this year, 2021? If yes, can I read Pharmacy in Unilorin with 241 in Jamb and an awaiting result?

    • Pharmapproach says:

I can’t categorically say if you would gain admission to study pharmacy in Unilorin with a JAMB score of 241 or not. This is because your chances of gaining admission to study pharmacy also depend on:
      1. the performance of other candidates
      2. your Post UTME score
      3. other school policy
You can read more on UTME cut-off marks for pharmacy

Okay, this is what to do. You have to make the two subjects your friend, give it your time and see what will happen, and don’t forget to consult your teacher for guidelines. Get P.N Okeke(FOR Physics) and Ababio Chemistry these textbooks will help you too. Thanks

  10. Cynthia Oged says:

Can a biochemist study pharmacy during Masters?

    • Pharmapproach says:

Yes! Biochemists can do masters in pharmacy. But that will not mean they will be pharmacists. Biochemistry and pharmacy are closely related but two different disciplines. Biochemistry is the application of chemistry to the study of biological processes at the cellular and molecular level. Pharmacy is the clinical health science that links medical science with chemistry and it is charged with the discovery, production, disposal, safe and effective use, and control of medications and drugs.

Pharmacology relies heavily on biochemistry since we intend to use these chemical substances in living organisms.
With masters in pharmacy, there are many options available. most especially in the department of analytical pharmaceutical chemistry. But you have to do a postgraduate diploma before master. The requirements vary from school to school.

I want to find out which is the best is it to enter university to study pharmacy or do a program course of pharmacy outside university if you can’t make it into university with your jamb result.

Pharmacy is not a course one can just study, it’s a professional course and gaining admission to study PHARMACY at the university is more appropriate.

I studied Microbiology as my undergraduate course.
Is there a school for pharmaceutical Microbiology, what I am seeing is masters of pharmacy.

Yes, schools like the University of Nigeria Nsukka, University of Lagos, Ahmadu Bello University, and many more. But do make the necessary inquiry from the schools too.

  13. Chioma says:

I got admission into the Ebonyi state university to study nursing and then realized that I can’t offer it due to I hate seeing people with wounds or even seeing blood and pharmacy has always been my dream.
My question is now I want to change to any university that is offering pharmacy and achieve my dream but I don’t know how to go about it

    • Pharmapproach says:

Becoming a pharmacist will not prevent you from that either.
To answer your question, you can apply for a change of course if your score is high.
